Drywall cost planning beyond sheet count
Sheet quantity is only one part of a drywall budget. Joint compound, tape, corner bead, screws, waste and finishing requirements can change the material total, while ceilings and difficult access can change installation effort.

Estimate walls and ceilings separately, subtract openings consistently, then convert the total area into the sheet size you actually plan to buy. Keeping rooms separate makes it easier to check the estimate and identify where waste is being added.

Confirm whether a quote includes hanging only or also taping, finishing, sanding, texture, cleanup and disposal. Two prices are not comparable unless the finish level and scope are similar.
